Hey, stuck at home this sun morning, can't go to church! Cos of the bestbest sprained ankle. Oh well! I enjoyed chorale camp lots! =) Though it was pretty short and I sprained my ankle. Lol. Let me just relate some random incidences.
Hooray for my group, the Hoolidoolies! Haha. We played some pretty silly games like animal concentration, the yeehaa game etc. Chin Ee and his "stern as a bun" and Joseph's weird sounding ameoba (bet i spelled that wrong) were hilarious. And lots of other nonsense.
Night treasure hunt... pretty fun. Good idea to add in the watergunners! Really spices up the game. Ruth and Avonne are super SNEAKY! Esp Ruth. She hid in the stairwell for me to walk by and chionged out. Nearly kena heart attack sia. Joseph ran and ran and ran from them till he was wet with sweat. Haha. Good job with the clues though. I haven't played treasure hunts for a long time, only planned them haha. So it was pretty interesting.
The teachers-in-charge ordered us guys to escort the girls to the bathroom to bathe. Lol. Pretty strict eh. So we few of the guys slept at 12a.m after waiting for the girls to bathe. Whoo. For some reason we all kept waking up during the night.. dunno why, I've slept well on hard floors before. Played a bit of soccer at 6+ (siao eh), almost sprained my pathetic foot again. Capt's ball in the Bball courts for morning exercise. Eh my favourite sport! =) Pretty uneven teams. But anyway, before the cabbage came into play, I happily sprained my ankle. JUst a routine turn and shoot argh. Why so weak! Anyway I immediately hopped off the area, so quietly that only avonne knew. She helped me get ice! ThanksSS!!
Argh my right ankle really sucksss.. After the bad sprain last year while playing soccer with chorale guys. Before that I had never sprained before, even through all the hard running. Woot. This time better see a doctor. Well enough self-pity. Lol. After much hopping around and after choir prac, Aud and ZhiQi told me that I could borrow a wheelchair from the GO. =) It really helped. But I felt pretty extra though. Some people thought I was faking it! That's what Miss Lim asked me, but she was joking lah. She asked if I wanted sympathy. Duh I would rather be able-bodied than be handicapped. She's rather too strict but I like her witty comments and concern.
Station games.. apparently I've finally learnt how to throw a frisbee properly. Watched my group mates play stuff. It was pretty cool eh. Too lazy to write it all down! Isaac (yay i spelt it correctly!) was very good in finding the stickers to give us extra points. The rest were great and enthu. Well sitting in the wheelchair does have its benefits lol. Like being pushed around. Quite song. haha. And I should be thankful that God has given me the ability to run around!
We the Hoolidoolies had a lot of fun preparing for the special night skit. Our word theme was "Shimmer" so Marie came up with the story line. About this old man who wants to give his fortune to the child that had the most shimmery thing. I was supposed to be the old man, but I can't act lah so Joseph took over and he was SUPERB. Haha. "Wa lao peh ai si liao ah!" Super funny lah! Marie or should I say Marie-AH-Carey was awesome in her acting and her funny contributions to the script. She was the "Shimmering Celeb." Yi Hui had shimmering hair which cost $888 to get done, Stephanie had a shimmering bald head with sweat making it more shimmery, Nikki was the Darlie advert with shimmering teeth but with a cockroach in them, Min Si thought shimmering was simmering and so brought her simmering tofu to her "Ah Pa" and got scolded. Isaac had his Shimmering Glorious Male Voice which was an awesome jibe at Mr Toh's Glory of the Male Voice concert. HAHA. A short anecdote of the skit:
Isaac: Dad, I've brought what you have given us since we were very young... (Ah Pa has a confused look) Your genes!
Ah Pa (Joseph) gasps
Isaac: You have taught us how to sing and now I've come to show you my shimmering voice! Listen to the Glory of the Male Voice! (everyone bursts out laughing, Ah Pa nods sagely)
Isaac: (sings) I was born to sing, so I sing--
Ah Pa: --AIYAHHHHHHHHHHH! Why like that lah! How many time must I tell you not to sing alone! Like that got no overtone! Must sing together lah! *coughs and coughs*
Marie-AH-carey: AIYOH! AH PA IS DYING ALREADY! AND I WANT MY MONEY! QUICK QUICK! SING!
Everyone sings.
Ah Pa: Very good... *coughs and dies*
LOL! I like! haha. I was the retard beside the father. Basically acted retarded lah. Special night was really special. =) thanks comm!
On the whole, camp was great! I do wish I got to talk to more people though. Didnt really talk much, partly cos of the ankle so had to be pushed around, how to talk!! I love my group =) What a waste Nerissa missed it. YiHui,Marie,ChinEe,Nikki,Joseph,Isaac,Nerissa,MinSi,Stephanie a big thank you for being a great bunch of people! Hoolidoolie! Paul shift the gear box 1 ,2 ,3 ,4! Hoolidoolies rule! Yeehaa! That's our group cheer. =) Special thanks to Avonne for her care in bringing ice, Yi Kai and Chin Ee for making sandwiches for me, WeiSong for his piggyback, Joseph, Yi Hui, Min Si and Steph for their pushing, all others who showed concern like Ruth, Hui Lin, Nikki, Wen Hao, Jina. Wish I could have helped plan the camp though, I'm itching to plan something for school.. after being excluded in planning house party etc etc etc. Plenty of ideas for activities! Like the human Chinese chess game that is unique to our churches. At least I get to plan KS Camp again! =) Yeehaa! Wish chorale had a table to meet at in the mornings! rather than separate cliques around! Anyway...I shall end with a song: It Is Well With My Soul, since its Sunday, and I shall sing along! Lol i'm mad.
When peace like a river attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll.
Whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say:
It is well, it is well with my soul.
(chorus) It is well (echo), With my soul (echo)
It is well, it is well with my soul.
My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought,
my sin not in part but the whole,
is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord oh my soul.
And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll.
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
even so, it is well, with my soul!
Sung is parts, this song is wonderfully moving. And so meaningful! Alright tha['s all.. cya people!
